Located in the heart of Teesside on the banks of the River Tees, Stockton blends history with a constantly evolving town centre. Famous for the UK’s widest high street and one of England’s oldest markets, it’s a town where tradition meets modern life and its one of my best known secrets!

Stockton punches above its weight when it comes to food. From quirky retro cafés and cosy independents to pubs, Italian restaurants, and steakhouses, every spot is worth a visit.

Stockton is never short of things to do. The town is full of live music, theatre, comedy, markets, and council events that are often free. It’s not about one big attraction, but a town packed with smaller, exciting things happening all the time.

With the River Tees running through it, Stockton offers riverside paths and quiet walks away from the high street although its alley way system make for a great explore aswell. Some of the UK’s best hikes are just a short drive away, making the town a great base for exploring Teesside on foot.

From market-day activities to festivals like SIRF and Stockton Calling, the town is alive year-round. Venues like ARC, The Globe, and The Georgian Theatre host comedy, music, and theatre, while workshops and family activities keep things varied.
